Week 10: November 18-21

November 22, 2024

The Scouts started the week off by bringing in clothing from home and learning about where their clothes come from, including chucking a ball of yarn around the room to show how the manufacturing processes can travel around the globe. The firelighting competition was called off due to rain.

Talking about toilets was the order of the day for the Cubs on Tuesday! They were challenged to raise funds to twin our hut's toilet with somewhere they choose, after learning about World Toilet Day and the conditions that people around the world face.

This week, the Beavers had a group of special visitors, the Coventry Morris Men, come to demonstrate a couple of dances and to teach the Beavers two dances. Incredibly, no fingers were harmed during the stick whacking and everyone seemed to have a great time learning the dances. The Coventry Morris Men were formed in 1931, by dancers who had a previously danced in connection with a Scout Troop, and they've been to visit several times over the years.
