The Cub Pack is the section of the Scout Group following on from Beavers. Cub Scouts are young people aged between 8 and 10 ½. Our Cub Scout Pack has up to 24 Cub Scouts and is split into smaller groups called Sixes, led by their Sixer and Seconder.
For Cubs, excitement and adventure are key. Their programme offers a variety of experiences designed to be interesting and challenging whilst allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities. During their time in the Pack, Cubs are introduced to exciting outdoor skills and take part in a wide range of adventurous activities. Camps, sleepovers and residential experiences are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs.

Yes — Brownies and Guides as a member, but I also went with my dad to his Scout group (back in the days before girls could be members 😉).
I joined the 46th as a volunteer when my eldest son went up to Scouts and we were short of adults, but it was working with the young people that made me want to stay.
Seeing the young people achieving things and working together; seeing smiles on their faces.
I'm really into music and love playing my guitars or listening to music. I enjoy going to the gym, as it helps me switch off from a very 'thinky' job. I really enjoy cooking and baking, but they are not nearly as good for me as the gym...
Less than a year.
I was part of a Beaver colony, but I didn't settle at the Cubs group at the time. I wonder if I would have stayed on with a little encouragement.
I've seen how joining Beavers and Cubs has benefited my son, helping him grow in skills and confidence. I enjoy seeing that in him and the other young people, but I think I enjoy the activities as much as they do!
I love seeing the young people try new things and pick up new skills. It brings me a lot of joy to see them grow in confidence and I love being part of that. I'm a big fan of the camps and outdoor activities.
Walking, travelling, going to music festivals, camping and spending time with my family and friends.

Not really! I did DofE but that was about it!
Whilst pondering what to do during a few weeks of boredom between university and a work placement, my good friend Ash Hyde (currently Deputy County Commissioner (People)) suggested that I help out at his Cub Scout group!
Getting to be a 'big kid' and camping!
You're probably just the person we need to help with the Cubs section. Head over to the volunteer page to see how you could help.
