Bablake District Beavers & Squirrels Annual Craft & Campfire

October 19, 2024

Saturday evening, the annual Bablake District Craft & Campfire took place at Rough Close for our Beavers. Along with Beavers from five other groups (and a Squirrel Drey), they made leaf art, had hot dogs and sang as loudly as they could. We had foxes, hedgehogs and campfire pictures made with leaves, sticks and bark and lots of glue! After everyone had their hot dogs, we all sat round the campfire circle and Ash Hyde led us all in song. It's always a great event that the Beavers love, and this year was no different. Seeing the Beavers learn that they're part of a bigger Scouting family is brilliant.

Three Beavers work intently on their leaf art, making hedgehogs and a fox.A Beaver concentrates as he glues leaves to his fox shape on his paper.Having selected his leaves carefully, this Beaver is making sure he glues them in place just right. He's also glued an interesting spiky seed pod where the fox's eye should be.With a huge grin on his face, a Beaver shows off his fox leaf art.Six Beavers sit with an adult helper, smiles on their faces, waiting for the campfire singing to begin once the other groups arrive.
