On Monday our Scouts held some serious discussion about drugs and alcohol, as well as the importance of sleep. They had a quiz and made up a storyboard for an advert about awareness on these issues, as well. The rest of the evening was filled with games and the weekly firelighting competition, though no-one won that this week due to the wet weather.
The Cubs had some decision-making challenges on Tuesday night. Given a pile of items they could choose to grab five of in an emergency, two of the sixes made sensible decisions, though the third six did make some unusual choices. At the end of the evening, the Howlers were victorious in the firelighting race, with the Trackers coming second.
Our Beavers had fun filling their tummies with fruit on Thursday, after lots of chopping to make themselves fruit salad with a Thai twist. They were all given a taste of the coconut and lime dressing, which some of them declared delicious and smothered their fruit salad in. It's always interesting to see that those the most adept at cutting their fruit are not necessarily the oldest ones. Two years ago, it was one of the youngest, and that was the case again this week.
